We are pleased to announce a
Research Associate (doctoral-level) position (Wissenschaftliche/r Mitarbeiter/in) in Social Psychology
at the Department of Psychology, Division of Psychology and Sports Science, Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (WWU Münster), with 50% of full employment (19 hours, 55 min per week), at level TVL-13 (regular level for German state university employees, approx. EUR 18,000 p.a.).
Start date: October 1, 2013
Duration: 24 months. Extension is possible.
The successful applicant will join the social psychology group at University of Münster under the direction of Professor Dr. Gerald Echterhoff and contribute to teaching and research, primarily in social cognition, social influence, false (action) memory, interpersonal communication and shared reality. S/he will plan and conduct experiments using computer-based tasks, analyze the data, supervise student research assistants, participate in meetings with international collaborators, and contribute to conference presentations and the writing of manuscripts. The teaching commitment is two academic hours per semester week (2 SWS, typically one seminar class).
Applications are invited from students with a Master’s, Diploma or equivalent degree in psychology, proficiency in English, experience with experimental methods and statistical analyses, and knowledge of statistical software.
The position is a 50% position, and is thus geared toward a doctoral student who should work toward a dissertation in one of the above fields. We would like to welcome an individual with scientific curiosity, a strong motivation to pursue research, and excellent communication skills. Proficiency in German is useful but not required. We appreciate experience with computer-based studies and the statistical open-source package R, as well as receptiveness to neuroscientific methods.
