The ZPID's research program is designed for basic and applied research. The focus is on three related lines of research directed towards:
The research questions are often formulated interdisciplinarily. Alongside psychology, they concern related fields (e.g. cognitive science, educational science, medicine, sociology) as well as computer linguistics, computer sciences, and information and library sciences. In order to investigate these questions, the ZPID cooperates with other national and international research institutions on varying projects1. Within the Leibnitz Association, the ZPID is involved in the Leibnitz research alliances »Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN)2«, »Healthy Ageing3« and »Science 2.04«.
The insights gained are reported in publications5 and conference talks/posters6. Furthermore, findings are integrated into the ZPID's products and services. In doing so, research performed at the ZPID supports scientific and science-based work in psychology and neighbouring disciplines.
