ZPID Keynote Speech at LISER Conference on Data Protection
The Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER)1 will host a conference on data protection in social science research on October 17. The new EU General Data Protection Regulation2, which will come into effect in Spring 2018, has important implications for research.
The conference provides a platform for representatives of research institutes in Luxembourg and other European countries to discuss various aspects of data protection, in particular in the light of the new regulation.
ZPID director Michael Bosnjak will open the session »Importance of data in social and behavioral science research – how will the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) impact social science research?« as keynote speaker.
The overall aim of Bosnjak’s presentation is to summarize which data is required for what purpose in the social and behavioral sciences, and how the EU General Data Protection Regulation creates new challenges and fosters innovative research opportunities alike.
