The Chair of Marketing and Consumer Research at Technical University of Munich in Freising, Weihenstephan (Germany), offers the position of a

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

starting March 1, 2018. Initial appointment will be for 18 months with the possibility of extension. Salaries are in accordance with the German State Regulated Public Service Salary Scale (TV-L E13 100 %).

Required skills

Applicants should

  • have a PhD in Consumer Science or Agricultural and Applied Economics, a developing bibliography of publications and clear potential to publish in leading journals;
  • possess strong analytical skills and have a profound theoretical and methodological background in consumer research with a focus on quantitative methods;
  • be highly motivated, be able to work independently and in a team;
  • have very good language and writing skills.
  • German language skills are desirable.


The successful candidate is expected to engage in an international research project on animal welfare and consumers, conducting experiments, focus group interviews, and an international survey.

The Chair of Marketing and Consumer Research focuses on consumer economics and consumer behavior research with a special focus on food.
