Kolloquium für Interessierte – vor Ort und online
Das Leibniz-Institut für Psychologie (ZPID) lädt Interessierte im Rahmen seiner Kolloquiumsreihe herzlich ein. Am Mittwoch, dem 8. Mai 2024 von 14-15 Uhr spricht die Computerlinguistin Aswathy Velutharambath vom Institut für Maschinelle Sprachverarbeitung (IMS), Universität Stuttgart zum Thema "Modelling regulatory focus and deception in text for style transfer". In dem Vortrag berichtet sie unter anderem über zwei Beispiele für die computerlinguistische Modellierung psychologischer Konzepte.
Das Kolloquium findet in englischer Sprache in Raum D 141 der Universität Trier und auch online statt. Nach der Anmeldung unter events(at)leibniz-psychology.org versenden wir gerne den Link zur Online-Veranstaltung, vor Ort kann man ohne Anmeldung teilnehmen.
Abstract: Modelling regulatory focus and deception in text for style transfer
In the talk, I will present my research on automatically detecting regulatory focus and deceptive intent in text, and discuss the challenges involved. Also, give an introduction to our novel German deception corpus, designed to study the interplay between authors' beliefs, factual accuracy, and intent to deceive in argumentation. Lastly, I outline my plans to use these concepts to conduct text style transfer to craft persuasive arguments for more effective communication.
